The owners wanted to expand and reconfigure their contemporary house to better fit their lifestyle and enhance the quality and functionality of living spaces shared with their extended family. They also wanted to improve the connection of the house to its wooded site and make it more energy-efficient.
A series of design options were explored, and a design was chosen that enlarged the house without enlarging its footprint. The new design maintains the open floor plan and ample natural light, while providing better options for privacy and separation of spaces. Custom cabinetry was designed and installed in multiple locations, and tile and other finish work was laid out and installed with great attention to detail.
